Washington, DC – The Jacobson 2016 reelection campaign announced today that it has received more than one hundred contributions in the past sixty days, raising nearly $13,000 to date. Jack Jacobson is vying for a second term as the Ward 2 Representative on the District of Columbia State Board of Education, where he currently serves as President.

“I’m humbled by the outpouring of support my campaign has received from every corner of the District and across Ward 2,” said Jacobson. “Washingtonians have recognized the great strides the Board of Education has made over the past year to approve policies that will provide a better education and greater opportunity for our students of all ages. Together, we are working to make the District a place where students, teachers, and families can succeed, regardless of Ward or economic status.”

The Jacobson 2016 reelection campaign has been bolstered by the support of parents and families throughout Ward 2, and received contributions and statements of support from Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners across the Ward. Dr. Monica Roaché, an ANC Commissioner representing Georgetown, serves as Campaign Chair.

“Our message is resonating with donors and with voters,” said Jon Caley, Campaign Treasurer. “Jack has received support from both longtime friends and many new contributors. Our campaign finance report demonstrates strong support from Ward 2 residents, including many who became involved after seeing the positive direction Jack is steering the Board.”

Since launching in March, Jacobson’s campaign has demonstrated true grassroots support with more than 130 contributors representing all eight wards. The average donation received is less than $100.
